Young women, elderly and children are all squeezed into a courtyard as if they were at a bus stop waiting for a bus which never arrives. Those female prisoners who are condemned for kidnap are 9, two for drug dealing, 49 for murder of "the husband, the wife or the son".

Capacity: 800, effectively: 3.500. "There's no room for praying, to sit down or to eat", says the the Commander. The toilet is a bucket, the water implant is a disaster and the sewers are obstructed, the bins are taken outside, who knows where, the prison is in the middle of the city.

They're taking dozens of detainees to their trials, all chained up together. The overall scene is miserable, and at the apperance non-violent, as if violent would be a luxury in such a condition.

Seventy prisoners are condemned to be hanged, as life-sentence doesn't exist here, the maximum sentence is of 20 years.

There are big working rooms, large carpenter structures, antique sewing machines and hairdressing.

The female prison was built by "the Italians", there are 171 women. Children are together with their mothers until they turn six, then they are sent to an orphanage. They're 67 today, but feels like one thousand.

The main female crime is "prostitution", 1 to 10 years, which basically means infidelity or having had sex before marriage.

The "imprisoned", not yet judged, are 490, the other have been condemned for murders, kidnaps, drug trafficking, robberies, and the Talibans who should be shot to death in a "block of 6" but it doesn't work out.
